Ramp Up RI
Ramp Up RI is a new program through South County Habitat for Humanity created for low income homeowners in Washington County in need of a ramp for themselves or a household member. Staff and volunteers work together to build a ramp for those who qualify.
Eligible projects are funded through grants and no-interest loans.
Qualification:
Your home is located in Washington County, Rhode Island
There is current homeowners insurance on the property
You or a household member is in need of a ramp for accessibility
You have not received assistance from South County Habitat for Humanity in the past 3 years
You earn at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) - see chart at right

How to Apply

The Ramp Up RI process
1. Submit application
RampUp RI accepts applications on a rolling basis. You can submit the application electronically by clicking here, or download the paper copy here.
Mail completed applications to: South County Habitat, PO Box 68, Shannock, RI 02875, or bring them to the Habitat office located at 1555 Shannock Road in Charlestown, RI.

3. Financial review
Once received, your application will be reviewed to determine financial eligibility by qualified professionals.
4. Assessment & proposal
If it is determined you are financially eligible, members of our highly skilled construction team will set up a time to visit your property to assess the feasibility, size, and scope of the ramp needed. Our team will then create a proposal the ramp design as well as an estimated budget for the project.
6. Ramp installation
Ramp installation is typically done by our skilled construction volunteers and our construction staff. Depending on the size and complexity of the ramp, ramps are generally completed over the course of two or three days.
